How to change your life

Top 10 Books on How to Change your Life!

Mind and Beyond

When I was researching the Top 10 Books on How to Change your Life I really considered the following.

As a coach and as someone who has been on their own personal development journey, I write a lot of articles about mindset, how to change your thinking and behaviour to change your life, have the life you want, be all you can be and access your pure potential.

Much of what I write either focuses on mastering or managing your mind or is about going beyond your mind in order to find greater happiness, contentment, peace, calm and fulfilment.

This may seem conflicting but I think that we need what we need at a given point in time and this changes.  It was certainly that way for me.

So, with that, I’ve compiled a recommended list of my Top 10 Books on How to Change your Life whether it be at the mind (thought) level or going beyond that and deeper within to transform your life.

What resonates with you now is what is right for you now.

In no particular order. Let’s get started!

Top 10 Recommended Books

Mind

1. Clarity: Clear Mind, Better Performance, Bigger Results (Jamie Smart)

Clarity JamieThis book is a real eye-opener and I loved it.  It’s all about inside out thinking and learning from a place of no-mind. That is to say to put aside the intellect for a while when we are reading the information.  Instead, we allow intuition and deeper levels of consciousness to prevail.  This can provide clarity.

Then, when we gain understanding through knowing rather than knowledge, we are actually more compelled to act.

“A powerful, positive book that can help you to achieve more than you ever thought possible, in every area.” Brian Tracy

A testimony from Brian Tracy says a lot.  He is hugely successful and has had longevity in the area of training and development of individuals and organisations.

The concepts provided are game changers.

2. The Power of Intention – Learning to co-create your world your way (Dr Wayne Dyer)

The Power of Intention Wayne DyerThe use of the word co-create is interesting isn’t it.  This suggests that we’re not just trying to do something alone. The book talks about intention as a force and that everyone and everything is connected to this invisible force.  It looks at how you can harness that energy and how it can power your intention.

I certainly believe that everything and everyone is connected, and it is all about energy.

The book comes with an intention guide with specific ways to apply the co-creating principles in daily life.

Dr Dyer may no longer be with us but his teachings are still valuable and powerful.  His personal story is compelling and shows his own continued transformation.

This book also comes in CD format which I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed.

This book has sold over 15 million copies and has to be up there with one of the best books on success of all time.

Napoleon Hill researched more than 40 millionaires to find out what they did to become successful.

The gist of the book is that thoughts become things, we must control our thoughts and we must have desire with a definite purpose and that desire must be ‘burning’ to accomplish that definite purpose.

This is a must have!

4. Awaken the Giant Within  (Tony Robbins)

Well, what can I say about Tony Robbins?Awaken the Giant Within Tony Robbins

He has a plethora of products and books out there.  He’s successful for a reason right, so what do they say to do if you want to be successful?  Do what that person is doing, copy them.

I’ve been coached myself by a Tony Robbins coach, I’ve attended Unleash the Power Within with great results including walking on fire and I have his book Awaken the Giant Within.  It might have been printed a couple of decades ago but this stuff never gets old.  What works works regardless of time.

So yes, if you want an action-based, passion filled approach, this is a no brainer.

9. A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life’s Purpose (Eckhart Tolle)

A New Earth

This one is on Oprah’s Book Club list.  When I first read this book, I found myself nodding from the very first page. I seemed to recognise the truth of what Eckhart was writing that went beyond intellectualising.

Eckhart Tolle’s intent behind this book is to bring about a shift in consciousness of the reader, that is to awaken the reader.

It is for those looking for self-improvement and for those that see that personal spirituality and its unfolding or awakening is key to a new earth and a new you. It’s about finding yourself and your inner purpose.  But, it’s not all about the internal.  It’s also about the ‘doing’ and outward movement.

Wonderful!
